About School -​

The school is established in rural village called Borgaon, 6 Kms. away from Umroli on Chiplun-Guhagar road.            

This is the first school established and run by Dr.Tatyasheb Natu Smruti Pratishthan, since June 1995. Now the education facility from class VIII to XII is available at this place. Both the secondary and higher secondary schools are approved by the government. The secondary school is aided,   

Junior College - 

The junior college of arts and commerce (joint) was established from July 2011. The junior college is still running on non-aided basis. The Natu Pratishthan received generous donation of Rs. 8 Lakhs from Vasantrao and Shantatai Patwardhan Trust. The College was renamed as  Vasantrao & Shantatai Patwardhan Jr. College of Arts, Commerce (Composite) Borgaon, in the Year 2016.

School Background -

This school has been started for the purpose of providing basic education in the rural areas and especially girls. Since its inception, there has been a significant increase in the number of girls' education. Students from villages Borgaon, Kaundhartamhane, bamnoli, Vaghivare and Gondhale are being benefited by this school and junior college. In the academic year 2017-18  there are 147 students studying in Std. VIII to X  and  89 students in Std. XI  and XII.

School Results -

The school maintains tradition of good results. The result of Std. 10th since March 2011 is continuously 100%. The result of std. XII is also 100 percent continuously since establishment. 20 batches of X th std. students have been out of the school. Total number of 966 students have been passed out from this school. 5 batches with a total of 219 students of std. XII have been passed out from this school.

Infrastructure and other facilities of the school -

The school has a well -equipped building of 9 rooms. Boys and girls have separate toilets in adequate numbers. Spacious playground is also available. The library is available in the name of Vasantrao  Patwardhan (Thane) Smruti Library. Total number of books available in the students’ library are 1348 and the total number of books available in the teacher's library are 577. Well equipped science laboratory is provided for the students.

Co-carricular activities in the school -
Extra coaching classes are arranged for continuous improvement of the school's results throught the year. Organizing parents’ meetings, they are told about the progress of the students. Yoga and Suryanamaskar competitions are organized. Some students attend residential classes organized by Chaturang Pratishthan. Teachers are encouraged to participate teachers’ Training programs organized by Chaturang Pratishthan. Many co-curricular and curricular activities including various sports events, various competitive (NTS, NMMS, KTS, Scholarship) examinations, government elementary and intermediate drawings examinations, elocution and calligraphy compititions, career  guidance,  gathering, cultural events, educational trips etc. are organized in this school..
